Notes on articles with precious rust

Rust is for years the trend in the field of garden and home decoration. This is an oxidation of the starting material steel / metal, which is rather undesirable in other areas. Our decorative elements are made of steel plates with a thickness of 3mm. During the production and processing of the raw steel plates, no patina is yet formed on the surface. Thus, our decorative pieces usually still have with a bright surface.

How can I speed up the process?
Simply spray the item with water in which you have previously dissolved some table salt. Then after a few days the first rust will form.
This oxidation initially creates a rather light red oxide layer (basic rust layer), which changes to rusty red or dark red over time.

How can I preserve and protect a color tone?
When using the decorative items indoors, a thin layer of clear varnish can be used to prevent the rust layer from peeling off. When used outdoors, the article can be treated with Owatrol oil rust inhibitor to prevent further rusting.

Attention!
Discoloration, e.g. by run-off water, is possible. Therefore, when placing the garden stele, make sure that it is not placed on light-colored surfaces (e.g. patio tiles) or use a suitable base.

Safety instructions
We do not accept any liability for damage caused by improper attachment and installation of our garden stelae. Especially with the ground spikes, which may not be stuck in the ground, but lie in the garden. Therefore, please pay attention to playing children and animals when choosing the placement.
